Maithripala affirms commitment to human rights

President Maithripala Sirisena says Sri Lanka is in a leading position among the countries which are committed to safeguard freedom, democracy and human rights in 2015.He said UN Secretary General Ban Ki–moon affirmed that in an international summit. The President was speaking at a ceremony held at Buddhi Mandapa in Polonnaruwa today. This ceremony was organized to extend the President’s congratulations to the people of Polonnaruwa. “When we look back the last year we have made lots of achievements during that year as Sri Lankans”, the President said.
